The current study aims to suggest efficient methods of securing competitiveness to hotel corporations by analyzing the relationship between physical environment of hotel restaurants and behavioral intention, as well as the influence of the relationship on consumers` positive behavioral intention. The study produced the following results; First of all, in analysis of behavioral intention for physical environment in Korea, it was found that only intangible environment influences significantly, not tangible environment. From the interpretation of the study results by company type, it was observed that Korean hotel guests usually use hotels for business or meeting, not for family or friends. Therefore, they tend to value the meeting itself rather than the physical environment. On the other hand, Japanese guests usually use hotels with friends or family, meaning their behavioral intention varies according to the atmosphere or physical environment. Secondly, it was found that both tangible environment and intangible environment significantly influence behavioral intention toward physical environment among Japanese people. From the analysis of the amount spent (on the basis of exchange rate as of October 2008), it was found that Japanese guests spent more money than Korean guests. It is deemed that spending a lot of money influences big expectation and stronger influence.
