The Internet and the rapid spread of the SNS bring a fresh breeze into the tourism industry. The tourism industry produces more creative contents by using the Internet and seeks for fast growth through two way communications with customers. Tourist agencies and companies are already shifting their marketing and advertising tools from mass media to social networks. The tourism industry should be prompt in dealing with the current trends in order to make a further development. The activation of SNS Tourism Information on the tourism industry can be summarized as follows: 1. With the user participation-focused information provision due to social media, as tourist packages and tourist attractions which SNS tourism information recommends are expected to draw attention, SNS is expected to get the spotlight in establishing marketing strategies by tourism packages and items providers. 2. Development of a great variety of tourism information and R&D on contents of tourism information that adapt to a third generation media environment such as SNS need to be strengthened. 3. Various policies should be provided for strengthening competitive mobile-based tourism information system. The study of the change in consumer trends and the tourism behavior is urgently needed and the policy that supports establishment of research institutes facilitating infrastructure of IT and the tourism industry should be arranged.
