This study was conducted to survey the collaboration between health care professionals and social care professionals in the community health and welfare services in South Korea. Especially, this study focuses on the working relationship between nurses and social workers in the field of community care for the elderly. For this study, people who belong to 44 Fundamental local governments such as visiting nurse of the health center, nurse and social workers of the mental health center, social workers and nurses who are responsible for home care at social welfare center, and social workers of the community center were chosen. And the number of the questionnaires that were used in the actual analysis was 295, which indicates the valid response rate was 62.9%. The current situation of the cooperation`s level of health and welfare at each institution was as in the following: First, it was determined that collaboration between health and welfare in Korea is not actively happening. Also, the level of cooperation wasvery high when social workers and nurses belonged to the same department. Second, the standard rate for the level of cooperation only among the people who actually had an experience of collaboration was 3.31 out of 5, indicating that it is considered normal. Third, formal ways of communication appeared to be higher in the level of cooperation rather than informal ways of communication. Fourth, In terms of management of client`s information in the process of working together, The level of cooperation was revealed higher when the information was organized by sharing the system.
