In this aging society, even those older persons with adequate physical and financial resources are inevitable with the problem of loss of role. A form of care described as assisted living continues to play an important role in the development of elderly housing and fits into the retirement centers end of the continuum. Assisted living is defined as a special combination of housing personalized supportive services, and health care designed to respond to the individual needs of those who require assistance with the activities of daily living but do not need skilled medical care provided in a nursing home, Assisted living development trends have increased dramatically throughout the states and the nations. It can serve the totally independent individual as well as the person who, at any age and for any number of reasons, may need assistance with activities of daily living. MAHS offers residents the option of at least one meal daily, housekeeping services, and the services of a licensed home care agency.
