This study has been performed to review historical and cultural contexts of Korean immigrants to America, and project future agendas for the elderly. Today, Korean Americans live throughout the United States, representing one of our largest Asian-American populations. As we commemorate the centennial anniversary of Korean immigration to the United States, we recognize the invaluable contributions of Korean Americans to our Nation`s rich cultural diversity, economic strength, and proud heritage. Korean parents also view education in general with high regards. Many Korean parents come to the United States to provide opportunities for their children. Thus, Korean parents have high academic expectations for their children in school. In addition, To understand the elderly Korean immigrants in the U.S. not only understating the Korean culture, but also the immigrant experience. It is their destine that the intergenerational relationship leaders dominantly lead cross-cultural ties between Korea and America, as well as they suffer from the cross-cultural environment which lacks social esteem that they look for mostly.
