The purpose of this study is to identify disciplinary officers' core competencies perceived by military cadets of Korea Army Academy at Yeong-choen. To best accomplish the research purpose, this project was conducted through four stages: First, an open-ended questionnaire asking to describe the competent disciplinary officers' behavioral characteristics was administered to 175 senior cadets. Total 382 items were collected and similar items were consolidated to produce a preliminary questionnaire with 85 items. The questionnaire was administered to 351 military cadets for exploratory factor analyses(EFA). At the third stage, a final questionnaire was developed based on the results of the EFA with 53 items and was administered to 439 military cadets for confirmatory factor analyses(CFA). The results of the CFA showed that the research model with 9 related factors more significantly fitted the data than the null model with unrelated factors. The reliability coefficients of each the factors were in the range of .83 ~ .93. Finally, a structural equation modeling(SEM) was conducted to fit the structural relationship among the disciplinary officers' core competencies and military cadets' life satisfaction.
