Purpose : This study is to analyze the process of keyword change through apartment advertisement on the newspaper. We intended to find the way of the flow and trend about a certain change in the residential function of an apartment by the change of social culture in South Korea. Method : In this study, we are targeting apartment advertisements as a subject in newspapers and the process is as follows. The period was set from the 1960s up to 2015 when apartment advertising started and it was divided every 5 years. The media was selected for the newspaper. It was aimed at the newspapers that started before 1960 and are still in existence. In addition, newspapers ranked in the top of the circulation were selected. This study excluded company advertisements and announcement type of advertisements and targeted ads on the first page. When the same ad was displayed several times, only the first one was selected. this study extracts keywords in headlines, subheadlines, and body copies. and keywords were classified according to eight residential functions. These are divided by a unit of 5 years. We examined the ratios and reviewed the overall flow of these. Result : In the future, apartments in Korea will provide more convenient, comfortable and eco-friendly living space along with the development of information and communication. They will be the space to help residents to be able to establish their individual self-realization and belong to a member of a local community.
