The purpose of this study was to examine the trends of flight elements and connection elements performed on the horizontal bar by male gymnasts. Video recordings of horizontal bar performances were collected from the 2017 World Gymnastics Championships. The new elements of Bretschneider Stretched(I value) and Gaylord with 1/1 turn(G value) were performed in the CIII and CI. The flight elements with difficulty value changes in 2017(Winler, Deff, Piatti, Piatti Stretched, Piatti Stretched with 2/1 turn) were performed few elements in CI. On the other hand, gymnast never performed Pegan style elements. The gymnasts with 3, 1, 4, and 2 releases were the most frequently performed in CI(26.61%, 25.80%, 23.38%, 16.93%). The Yamawaki was the most frequently performed 63.70% of the overall gymnasts. The low frequency of the connection elements were the performed in CI(number of flight elements 13), CII(number of flight elements 4), and CIII(number of flight elements 5).
