The purpose of this study is to make the essence of the place through architectural reconstruction using the memory elements of the place. The place defines the characters of the space and has the time flow and social memories through monuments, architecture, and so on. Memory is a concept including history and refers to the phenomenon of restructuring the experience from the past to the present. Memory is reconstructed through the action of metaphor and analogy. In this study, memory elements are classified into physical elements and social elements through the case of architectural reconstruction. The architectural reconstruction is carried out through the memory element of the Okbaraji alley(an alley to care for prisoners), which is the target of the experiment. The memory elements play a role in reconstructing the architecture, and the architecture acts as the role of constructing the place, that will give great help to the place of the city for restoring the essence.
