This study was conducted to extract characteristics of colors associated with architectural concept based on popularity for Robert Venturi architecture. The method of study was derived of the analysis standard based on the architectural concept in his book and criticism. I have looked at the concept and perspective of the architect in terms of what kind of color usage is being transformed and implemented by using 12 colors of works. As a result of analyzing the works, the following features could be extracted. First, the complexity of architecture has been strengthened by the double blending by introduction of materials and dual colors, a way not to match the base finish material, the style, form and color of architecture. Second, it was strengthened to the opposition to the architectural form by contrasting descriptive letters, patterns and colors, intrusion of contrasting colors with architectural colors. Third, it was considered the intimacy with the public by means of characters and patterns with increased readability and recognition, explanatory and familiar colors, playful and decorative patterns. Fourth, the symbolism of the building has been strengthened by the color that is stronger than the form, commercial symbols and symbolic colors indicating the name and use of the building. The results of this research are expected to be used in the introduction of the popular centered method of using colors and the establishment of perspectives pursued by Robert Venturi.
