The purpose of this study was to analyze current status and implication of temporary shelter for disaster victims through the domestic and foreign case studies. A document research method and case studies were used to analyze and classified the spatial characteristics and types of the temporary shelter since 2000. Researchers found out the three types such as ‘partition type’, tent type’ and ‘self-assembly type’ through the 16 case studies of domestic and foreign projects. In the analysis of these cases, we knew two aspects; the first was ‘formal aspect’ which was focused on the simplicity of shape, ease of deformation and lightweight of materials. The second was ‘functional aspect’ which was focused on the cost benefit, safety, durability, ease of use, and regional applicability. New considerations for disaster temporary shelter, such as sustainability, technology, and urban settings, must be assessed to determine how they can improve the quality of life, provide high-density housing for urban environments, expedite delivery and installation of shelter units, and provide options that are more acceptable to communities. Therefore, findings of this research through the network content analysis and case studies will contribute to the current disaster housing strategies and guidelines of all international, national, and local levels.
