On the synchronic level of modern Chinese, the high frequency vocabulary "Ge" can be divided into four sub-categories according to the continuum view, so as to indicate quantifier("Ge1"), semi-virtual("Ge2"), the use of pronoun("Ge3"), the use of particle(mark/additional components)("Ge4") respectively.
This paper examines the grammaticalization of "Ge" from the grammatical expression, the change of word meaning and part of speech, the grammaticalization of quantitative meaning, the change of the structure level and the basic principles of induced grammaticalization.
