The study investigated effectiveness of the translator program developed by Naver, on both English proficiency, including vocabulary, grammar, and idioms, and learners" confidence, interest and self-efficacy. To this end, 18 college students taking a business English writing course were asked to answer the questionnaire and interviewed about using the translator program. The results showed positive effects on learning vocabulary and extending their vocabulary. Also they answered they had strong confidence, interest, and self-efficacy on English writing, which are considered to contribute to learning English. On the other hand, they expressed limitations of the program as it sometimes fails to offer what a writer has in mind in Korean and it is not effective in connecting sentences. The fact that L2 learners are aware of the limitations of the translator program is meaningful in that they are more likely to realize what they should study and learn to be a good writer while they are taking advantage of an easy and convenient translator program available to them.
