The purpose of this study is to conceptualize spatial planning characteristics in connection with local regions through analyzing urban regeneration cases. The study is processed as follows. First, assignments concerning urban regeneration are drawn by analyzing object regions of each case and reviewing planning details of those. Second, focusing on the drawn assignment, organize planning direction in regards with the connection to the local regions. The planning direction is checked by focusing on pedestrian trail, external space, and landscape. Lastly, draw the concept of planning through analyzing characteristics of spatial connections between the object region and the local region. The resulting concepts of spatial connection are summarized with connectivity, continuity, derivation, and integration. The following outcomes have been resulted from this study as linking strategies in accordance with drawing spatial connection concept and spatial range.
1. Linking within project section : Three-dimensional connection of external space and architecture for convenience and safety of pedestrians.
2. Linking between adjacent regions : Addition of components and system to overcome disconnected physical barrier.
3. Linking between broadband regions : Active utilization of public transportation system.
