Oral hygiene is necessary to maintain oral health and quality of life. However, the oral hygiene and the oral health care of older people in long term care facilities are poor. Professional oral health care for the elderly is required in order to improve the quality of oral health for the elderly in facilities. The purpose of this study was to survey the oral health knowledge and behavior of workers and to provide the basic data for educational programs of oral health care services and to seek development plan for oral health service of facilities, the subjects were workers in long term care facilities in Busan city and Gyeongnam province, was extracted in any, to obtain prior consent, we conducted a self-completed questionnaire survey. The study was conducted from 26 August 2013 to 6 September 2013, the datas were collected 185 parts, were done with SPSS program (ver 21.0) 160 parts and except 25 parts with content dishonest and double response. As a result of investigating the level of oral health knowledge of elderly care facilities workers, 51.2% was the percentage of correct answers, the case of knowledge of oral health in accordance with the oral health behavior of the elderly care facilities workers, knowledge level of oral health in the more interest about oral health was higher than the other group.(p<0.05). The knowledge level of oral health of healthy persons who have not periodontal disease and dental caries was higher than the other group(p<0.05). In this study, it is necessary that systematic and continuous oral health education program will be developed and to improve the institutional such as placement oral health professionals and to improve a qualitative service in order to enhance the level of knowledge of workers in elderly care facilities.
