In the internet protocols commonly used now, the end-to-end path between the starting point and the destination should be connected in both directions. In case of delivering the transmission/reception packets through the connected path, they are connected to networks with the delay time and RTT(Round Trip Time) between relatively small networks. In addition, they are characteristic in that they have a symmetric data transmission rate and a low error rate. DTN (Delay Tolerant Network) has been used as a method to solve the communication problems between networks in case of the long distance, long delay time, narrow bandwidth, and communication link cutoff of TCP/IP. DTN has been used as a concept for connection between the networks with not only different delay times but also different characteristics. This may be regarded as a new alternative to solve the network problems represented by TCP/IP and apply to connection between the networks with different kinds of forms. In this paper, proposed is an efficient message transmission method to transmit messages between DTN nodes in a disastrous environment in which most of communication infrastructure is destroyed. Also proposed and evaluated is a routing algorithm to consider the trade-off relation and improve the reliability in the message transmission process between nodes in the disastrous situation where the basic communication infrastructure of a urban region is severely destroyed.
