The big cities of the world are stopping physical development and setting policies and strategies for new urban forms. More than 90% of the mega cities that will grow in the future will be in Asia, so Seoul and Tokyo are urgently under review. Therefore, this study compares the environmental colors of Seoul and Tokyo, and then derives the context of color aesthetics. As for the results, Seoul places emphasis on color harmony by applying "Seoul Symbol Color" and Tokyo prefers concrete alternatives of "color harmony type" and "tone harmony type". The analysis methods used in this study are photography, video shooting, colorimeter, and color sampling. It is based on the 45 ° side view, which allows the surrounding environment to be fully viewed at the eye level of 1,500~1,700mm, which is the human eye level when photographing. According to the results of the survey in Seoul, R, YR, GY and RP areas were distributed. In particular, Tokyo has similar colors in cities of various shapes because it limits the range of hues without limiting the range of colors that can be used in urban planning. I hope that this paper will be applied to application of color aesthetics research by extracting colors separated into trees, waterside, roads, cultural properties, buildings, facilities, and outdoor advertisements.
