Recently, the government and enterprises are emphasizing more on the importance of intellectual property to promote economic growth and consequent competitiveness. Therefore, the application of patent information has tended to be increased. By analyzing applied patent, advanced enterprises and countries are understanding the direction of the future study and the trend of technologies. Moreover, they are unstintedly investing in the development of technology. Recent patent map and patent network have been used as good analysis tools. In this thesis, by analyzing the pros and cons of TF-IDF, artificial neural network, and clustering algorithm and its features, I researched the cases which applying patent map and patent network. Overall, I wish this research could be used to lay the foundation of analyzing patent and patent application study.
