Women entrepreneurs in developing countries can play vital role in reducing poverty. Many women entrepreneurs in Gaza Strip prove that they can succeed in the business field and improve the economic conditions of their families. However, the female participation in the labour force is among the lowest in the developing world, the male labor force participation rate is still around four times higher than that of females. Microfinance is a useful strategy for increasing women entrepreneurs through getting financial funding to create or develop their projects, but it is not always the appropriate intervention especially for poor women. Women need a supportive societal and legal environment and know-how to start and manage a business. Promoting women entrepreneurship requires improving on strategies and formulating appropriate policies so we can increase their participation in the economic life, empower them, promote gender-equity, create more job opportunities and hence alleviate poverty.
