The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of peer relationships and experiences of child welfare services on school adjustment of abused children. This study utilizes the first, fourth, and seventh waves of Korean Welfare Panel Study(KWPS). The study sample consists of 344 children who experienced child abuse at least once in the first, fourth, and seventh waves. On average, abused children with more serious problems utilized welfare services more frequently. Thus, this study adopted propensity score weight method to reduce the distortion of the results from selection bias. The study confirms different statistical results between multiple regression analysis and propensity score weight method. The results from multiple regression analysis showed that peer attachment had positive effects on school adjustment of children experiencing child abuse. However, peer support and experiences of child welfare services did not have significant effects on school adjustment. On the other hand, propensity score weight method proved that experiences of child welfare service had significant effects on school adjustment of abused children. There was no difference in results of peer attachment and peer support between the two methods. Based on the study findings, ways to improve peer attachment and to expend child welfare services for abused children were discussed.
