The old roads of Namhan-sanseong Fortress is a historical and cultural trail which has been made by Gyeonggi province and Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation since the early of 2016 based on five main roads of Bonghwa-road in the Joseon Dynasty which are comparted in 『Daedongjiji』 of Gosanja Kim Jung-Ho.
Bonghwa-road passes by Yulmokjeong, Gwangju, Geombukcham, Icheon, Eumjuk, and Janghowon via Heunginjimun, Jeongwangyo, Sincheonjin, and Songpajin from Hanyang. It is a road of about 196km reaching Bonghwa through Chungju, Dangyang, Jukryeong, and Punggi later then.
Gyeonggi province and Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation historically research the original route of Gyeonggi of Bonghwa-ro. And, they make the road as a modern trail considering safety in walking by investigating cultural resources such as surrounding cultural assets, folk tales, and so forth. This writing aims to propose application plans by seeking the original routes of the old roads of Namhan-sanseong Fortress and cultural resources.
