This study aims to reanalyze the Japanese verbal suffix [-tei-], which has resultative meaning and the Korean verbal suffixes [-e iss-][-ess-], which seem to correspond with [-tei-]. The results of this study follow below
(1) The resultative meaning of [-tei-] and [-e iss-] results from existential verbs, [iru] and [iss].
(2) The main function of [-tei-] and [-e iss-] indicate phenomenon-depiction sentence.
(3) There are two forms in Korean, [-e iss-] and adjectival verb [-ess-], which is corresponded to [-tei-] in Japanese.
(4) Through the contrast between [-ess-] and [-e iss-], I found out that it is hard for adjectival verbs, which is using [-ess-] , to use [-e iss-] form and locative [ey].
(5) The usage of the Korean verbal suffix [-e iss-] is restricted grammatically because that they need existence of the subject, namely visible substance, whereas the usage of the korean verbal suffix [-ess-] is not something visible, in other words, it indicates abstract feature of the subject.
