In this study, a simple and novel method to fabricate highly nanoporous silver electrode is demonstrated by two successive heat treatments and incorporating additional solvent to create holes on a silver film. Two experimental parameters, concentration of solvent in Ag organometallic ink and post annealing temperature, were used to control the size of nanopores and pore morphology of the silver electrode, facilitating to fine-tune the surface morphology. The method presented herein is expected to be utilized in a number of fields such as energy storage, optics, electrocatalysis and material targeting by developing a certain surface morphology suitable for each electronic application.
