This paper reviewed various ecological perspectives and derived from them some core values of ecological perspective that could be the foundations of community welfare. An ecological perspective has been influential in stimulating community-based solutions to social and physical problems, leading to a vision of an alternative society in which the concept of community and the process of community development play a major role. The ecological perspective discussed here was derived from the Green critique of the current social, economic and political order. In my view, it is a challenge which can be no longer ignored, and which will inevitably play a major role in the shaping of a future community. In view of this, I reviewed the environmental responses and Green responses that are two responses to environmental crises and made clear the differences of the two. Next, I reviewed briefly 10 themes within Green analysis: eco-socialism, eco-anarchism, eco-feminism, eco-luddism, anti-growth, alternative-economics, work, leisure and the work ethic, global development, eco-philosophy, new paradigm thinking, In conclusion, I identified four core values of Green social and political theory in the midst of diversity. Those values were holism, sustainability, diversity and equilibrium.
