The purpose of this study was to examine the comparisons of young sport talent and general students of the third grade of elementary school on aerobic and anaerobic ability and isokinetic muscle function. The subjects were conducted in 37students (boys 28, girls 9) aged 10 years in young sports talent center of Puniversity in 2009 and 2010. And general elementary 19students (boys 10, girls 9) aged 10 years old. The measurement items were exercise stress test, Wingate test, isokinetic muscle function test. Date analyzing method were ANCOVA using SPSS 14.0. The result of this study was as follows. 1. Physical characteristics and Body compositions: Young sport talent group showed lower results than general elementary students in weight, BMI,body fat and %fat. But, young sport talent group showed higher results than general elementary students in lean body mass. 2. Aerobic exercise capacity: Young sport talent group showed higher results than general elementary students in VO<sub>2max</sub>, respiratory exchange ratio, ventilation and exercise time. 3. Anaerobic exercise capacity: Young sport talent group showed higher results than general elementary students in mean power, peak power and total work. But, young sport talent group showed lower results than general elementary students in ratio of fatigue. 4. Isokinetic muscle function: Young sport talent group showed higher results than general elementary students in extensor and flexor. Therefore, Young sport talent group showed higher results than general elementary students in aerobic,anaerobic ability and lower extremity isokinetic muscle function,therefore we can conclude to be of help to set-up a norm of selection for young sport talent.
