This study analyses the effects of National Public Rental Housing(NPRH) on the regional and housing welfare. NPRH was launched for supporting vulnerable groups and for activating construction business. This analysis tries to evaluate whether the NPRH is achieving its objectives, such as securing stable housing and economic effects. Inter-industry relations table from Bank of Korea and supply data from Nation Land and Housing Corporation was applied for investigating the economic effects of NPRH. Housing welfare benefits were derived by comparing the market rent and the rent paid by the residence. It is clear that 520 thousand units of NPRH were constructed for housing stability of low income groups since 1999. It also brought 82 trillion won of effect on production inducement and 28 trillion won of effect on value-added to regional economy. Housing welfare benefit is more than 2 trillion won per year. Thus it should be one of obligations for continue to provide NPRH for regional economy and housing welfare despite increasing financial burden of its provider.
