The purpose of this study was to explore the impact of the 200 8Beijing Olympic Games and the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games on the Chinese society and regional residents. That is, the purpose of this study was to explore the impact of mega sports event legacy on the citizens’s consciousness and based on this, the impact on the sports culture. The subjects were 548 citizens who lived in Beijing and Guangzhou.
In order to achieve the purpose, this study used quantitative research method such as the covariance structure analysis to draw the following conclusions. First, mega sports event legacy affects the citizens’s consciousness. Second, mega sports event legacy affects the sports culture. Third, citizens’s consciousness affects the sports culture. Fourth, mega sports event legacy indirectly affects the sports culture through the citizens’ s consciousness, that is, the citizens’s consciousness is the most important mediation variable of the relationships among mega sports event legacy and the sports culture.
