The purpose of this study is to identify how people accepted the inflow of modern culture in terms of the attitude of acceptance. This study shows the aspect of inflow on the all sorts of things and concepts from the Western through articles and advertisement on newspapers and magazines about 100 years ago. Mostly the name of material things that changed our daily routine under the name of ‘modern’ is classified as the name of ‘[Yang-]’, meaning ‘Western’, and this instance is enough to show the way of capturing and acceptance to the lexicon by examining naming. Furthermore, that phenomenon recognizing as one of things from the West takes place so far meaning new things from the West. As recognizing the name of things, the ability to distinguish them can be realized, and also as understanding and classifying the property of things, the field of lexicon can be extended. Also this is the evidence to extend the field of it endowing things from the West with the specified term, [Yang-]. In accordance to the way of naming, we can form any idea of what the way of cognition and the structure of consciousness is. Taking specific names for new things shows the relationship with each lexicon categorized by the same field and distintion between the fields of lexicon. Sensory words can be a necessary and sufficient condition on the issue of social dynamic such as a sense of language, culture, economy, and so on, in modern Korean society being in the middle of reorganization from a status system under feudalism to the modern period filled with consumers.
