The purpose of this study is to examine instructors' perceptions on elementary after-school English programs. The survey was conducted with 61 instructors who currently work at the after-school English programs in elementary schools. In order to acquire instructors' insights on their practice, in-depth interviews were also carried out with 5 instructors who participated in the survey. The results are summarized as follows: Firstly, it was found that the instructors recognized that the main goal and the expected effects of after-school programs have been well achieved as aimed. Secondly, however, it was revealed that instructors working for after-school programs feel anxious about their renewal of the contract, and feel need for systematic support from the government and the school for their class teaching. Also the result showed that instructors consider it crucial to have trust from parents on after-school programs in order to improve the efficiency of after-school English programs. Based on the findings, suggestions on the successful implementation of after-school English programs are discussed.
