Objective: This research is to create new way to write Korean for electronic devices with touch screen more instinctive. Background: Lots of electronic goods having touch screen input such as smart phone and tablet PC in these days. Also advanced smart devices among them suggest writing in cursive letters instead of button UI input. Therefore the necessity of rapid and correct recognition technique of Korean scripts is derived. Method: We present new approach about Korean script recognition on the present electronic devices with touch screen. Our method focuses the differences between the way of Korean alphabet writing and English alphabet writing. The key is writing order and position of consonant and vowel of Korean letter. Moreover we design an appropriate UI on the mobile phone for this method. Results: Proposed method can easily make correct Korean cursive script on the smart mobile phone. Also the UI of method is understandable for uses without prior knowledge. Conclusion: We proposed new approach about Korean script recognition technique based on human behavior on the present electronic devices with touch screen. Application: The results of this research might help to develop writing functions for new smart mobile phone and tablet.
