The purpose of the research was to develop a class of liberal arts having characteristics of multidisciplinary areas for satisfying various social and cultural needs, through the link of well-being··well-dying and housing environment. Firstly of all, the review of the studies and literatures was conducted with the related contents in the areas of sociology and humanity, arts and design, philosophy, and etc, in addition to housing and architecture areas. The basic frame of class contents was focused on, in the case of the space for well-being, the harmony of memory, experience and wish on the housing, and, in the case of the space for well-dying, human dignity, privacy, and familiar/homelike environment in dying space, and funeral/memorial environment planned by the students themselves. After the supplementation of the basic class frame and contents through the experts’consultation from the multidisciplinary areas, the ultimate learning objectives of the class, and main topics and activities per week were set up. Teaching methods, in the base of students-oriented, were focused on free discussion, experiments, individual/group activities, presentation, and etc. Through the class, students are expected to set the clear values about life and death, to plan spatial environment for well-being and well-dying being happy for both of themselves and their families, and furthermore to develop the abilities as a member of society such as individual subjective capability, respect and consideration for other people and near environment, and cooperation.
