This study aims to explore tourism management plan for conserving the authenticity at heritage sites, especially Seoul City Wall. For this purpose, the author looked into the tourism management plan, focusing on carrying capacity, which was implemented at Central Sector of the Imperial Citadel of Thang-Long in Hanoi. Based on the findings, the several works for tourism management plan to conserve the authenticity at Seoul City Wall were suggested as followings: first, divide Seoul City Wall into several zones depending on their characteristics: Baegak Mountain Trail, Naksan Mountain Trail, Heunginjimum Gate Trail, Namsan(Mongmyeioksan) Mountain Trail, Sungnyemun Gate Trail, Inwangssna Mountain Trail. Second, estimate the ecological and social carrying capacity as well as physical capacity of each zone. Each zone of Seoul City Wall is so distinctive that the carrying capacities of each zone might be so different. For example, Baegak Mountain Trail where an access is restricted as a military zone will have a different carrying capacity from Heunginjimun Gate Trail and Sungnyemun Gate Trail where there are many tourist attractions. Third, estimate the number of tourists at present and in future of each zone. And basing on these figures, set the limits to acceptable change of site rather than visitation. These suggestions will help tourism management authorities of Seoul City Wall to plan tourism management appropriate to conserve the authenticity at Seoul City Wall.
