The purpose of this study is to analyze the role of leisure and sports activities in successful aging through the subjective opinions of members in middle-aged sport-for-all clubs. The results of this study are as follows.
According to the results of analyzing the role of leisure and sports activities in successful aging through the subjective opinions of members in middle-aged sport-for-all clubs, there were a total of three types(type Ⅰ was ‘personal need pursuit type considering social aspects’, and type Ⅱ was ‘personal control pursuit type considering social aspects’, and type Ⅲ was ‘personal management pursuit type considering social aspects’). According to the results of analyzing common points between three types, positive common factors included ‘maintaining and promoting thinking ability’, ‘communication between generations’, ‘contributing to self-development’, ‘cultivating sociality through social adaptation’, and ‘positive thinking’, whereas negative common factors included ‘contributing to reducing medical costs’, and ‘enhancing the activities of daily living’.
Here, the limitations of this study are positive common factors between three types. Concretely, these factors are classified into two aspects. Such aspects emphasize ‘personal cognitive abilities’ including maintaining and promoting thinking ability, contributing to self-development, and positive thinking, and ‘social cognitive abilities’ including communication between generations and cultivating sociality through social adaptation.
