It’s been a while since the term ‘globalisation’ has become familiar to the people worldwide. In a globalised world we witness many new forms of convenience. But we also see the worldwide level of tension in culture, faith, value system and so on. The pros and cons of globalisation are being discussed in all areas of society. Most governments of the world are trying to gain benefit through globalisation. But globalisation often brings disadvantages to some members of the country. In general, those who benefit (either directly or indirectly) from global market of capital and goods tend to emphasize the notion and the importance of globalisation, while those who don’t (or those who sympathize with those who don’t) tend to raise issues on its problems. The notion of glocalisation has been proposed as a way of overcoming the problems of globalisation. In other words, it has been suggested to be a better form or a genuine form of globalisation. Some scholars argue that the notion of glocalisation is inherent in the notion of globalisation. This paper summarises how the notion of glocalisation has been born and developed especially in Anglo-America. Particularly, it introduces recently published books on glocal research sold on the American online bookstore ‘Amazon.com’. In Anglo-America, the notion of glocalisation is being utilized in many areas including management, tourism, religion, environment, art, and education. It is hoped that this paper will shed some light on the understanding of the notion of glocalisation in this country and the possibilities of more creative application of the notion.
