The purpose of this study was to improve single household’s quality of living life in doss-house within Seoul metropolitan area through investigation about their living condition and housing preferences. Social survey research with questionnaire, targeting doss-house residents from November 2<SUP>nd</SUP> to 10<SUP>th</SUP> 2012. Data from 98 subjects were analyzed by a SPSS PASW statistics 20.0. Using frequency, percentage, mean, crosstabulation. Major residents in doss-house were male(98.0%). Resident"s average age was 56.9 years old and they had some chronic disease more than half of all.
Major findings were as follows. Firstly, most of the responds did not want to escape from their environment. Secondly, 70.4% of respondents pointed their uncomfortable air conditioning and outside common toilet and bathroom.
In conclusion, policy for doss-house must be supported improving air conditioning and size to meet minimum housing standards.
