In Korea, industrial sector take up highest of value 56%, transportation sector 22.8% and residential sector 11.9% of a total energy consumption. In particular, the residential sector is showing a high growth rate of energy consumption due to abnormal temperatures to increased demand for air conditioning in 2010. As a result, we have suffered from an electric power shortage, energy saving of the residential sector has been highlighted. The purpose of this study was to present the estimation of energy consumption in residential buildings according to demand forecasting methodology. Energy demand forecasting is important to plan for the efficient energy planing.
A Demand Forecasting Methodology was used with the data obtained by the Literature Review. In this study, a methodology was developed and an analysis was carried out with various parameters to provide substantial data for decision-making in urban planning.
