Recently, Housing Complex “Danchi” is rebuilt because of the reason that the plan and the building facilities isn’t fit the residents’ needs. The effect of rebuilding project of Danchi for the surrounding area is strong. But, the planner of Danchi doesn’t consider that effect. Therefore, Danchi is isolated from there. This paper aims to grasp the role of open space of Danchi for spatial structure in urban area. This study has two research. One is field investigation for Danchi’s open space. Another is questionnaire investing for the people live in circumference of Danchi. According to result, there are three facts. 1)There a re four development types of the relationship Danchi and circumference area.2)The spatial structure of Danchi’s open space was one typical type like a park before rebuilding project and that was changed for three types after the rebuilding project.3)Sp atial continuity through Danchi area to circumference area affects for the people live in circumference of Danchi.
