Children grow interacting environments around them in the neighborhood and the community. Environments may have influences on their physical activities, yet their uses, experiences and perceptions have not been widely investigated. It is important to consider children’s physical activities and relationships with them and neighborhoods. Among them, this research draws patterns of children’s mobility in neighborhoods and their characteristics. Children answered destinations, travel companions and transportation methods for their one-day mobility. The participants were 4th graders including 15 girls and 13 boys that live in Seoul. According to the findings of this research, most frequently-used destinations are places for education and purchase. Places for play are located near homes and educational institutions. Girls mainly go on foot with friends, families or alone. Boys travel more destinations than girls using active transportation methods like bicycles and quick-boards. This empirical research provides the foundations about patterns of children’s mobility.
