In the past, the economic growth-oriented urban development made the extension of urban and the indiscriminate development. So, the bus depots located on suburb got included in the new town of city, and the residential area was made around the bus depot for supplying housing. As a result, the complaints of the residents are raised continuously. That is because the bus depots, urban planning facility, are considered as NIMBY facilities. Also, there are limits of the bus depots’s relocation toward the new boundary of city, and it has the many other problems.
Under this background, this study is to find the three-dimensional utilizing methods of bus depots for providing the community facility and improving the living environment in residential areas around bus depots. The purpose of this study is to suggest the development possibility and direction based on three-dimensional utilization of bus depots in residential area, after researching the present conditions of bus depots in seoul and analyzing the physical features.
