The purpose of the study was to find out the importance of the factors of social sustainability in housing. The social sustainability is important as community in modern life. The methods were residents face-to-face interviewed and experts questionnaire survey on internet. The data for the analysis was collected from September 12 to 28 2013, and the sample consisted of 64 respondents living in Seoul and Gyeong-gi. The data for the analysis was collected from September 13 to October 11, 2013, and the sample consisted of 35 academic experts. The the factors of social sustainability were consisted of ‘Locality’, ‘Communality’ and ‘Organic’. The finding of this study were as following: 1) Residents thought the most important ‘Organic’, but experts thought the most important ‘Communality’. 2) Look at the ‘Locality’, residents thought the most important ‘Local homogeneity’, but experts thought the most important ‘Reflected the local characteristics’. 3) Look at the ‘Communality’, residents thought the most important ‘Community space and facilities’, but experts thought the most important ‘Community activities and programs’. 4) Look at the ‘Organic’, residents and expert thought the most important ‘Safety’ and ‘Welfare’.
