The purpose of this study is to develop the assessment indices on sustainable back-to-farm community village, verify their effectiveness after application to the real cases, and finally decide the validity of the common applicability.
The assessment indices were applied to the 12 community villages, and the data were got from interviews with recorded tapes and observations. The statistical mean by SPSS 19.0 program gave the study the appraisal points, and the findings are as follows. 1) Some of typical assessment indices(living-environmental, socio-environmental, managerial-environmental, regional-environmental and economic-environmental) were found to be not adequate to apply because almost back-to-farm community villages were too small and have orientation to eco-village. 2) Some assessment items in the living-environmental, socio-environmental and managerial-environmental indices were found to need adjustment along with the establishment point because longer period explained more autonomy. 3) The item "ecomomic base and program" of economy-environmental index was found to be influenced by village making history, so that it was hard to apply it to all the villages. And the item "income" showed limited discrimination as assessment by various factors.
