The purpose of this study was to analyze architectural characteristics of Micro Compact Home(M-CH), the name of high quality compact dwelling for one or two people, designed by a english architect, Richard Horden and constructed by Gattebauer in Uttendorf, Austria as case study for the development of short stay living. A field survey was used to analyze and classify the architectural characteristics of the M-CH during the July of 2013. Based on the results of the critical review, The framework of this study was composed of four dimensions such as habitability, rapidity, sustainability and economic feasibility. M-CH had good credits in the four dimensions of the framework, showing the potential of sustainable and smart planning. The results of this study suggest that good conditions of sustainability are essential to the planning direction of future unit modular. This research can be a basis for the application of the unit modular to the temporary dwelling space for college students, further, leisure travellers, and workers.
