The object of this study is to conduct a color preference survey of residents with the color status of the current residential place and to suggest a color design for residential place reflecting the survey. For the study, literature review, analysis for color status of the space, and survey are conducted. The survey questionnaire includes residences’ color preference, satisfaction for color used in the space and color preference for living room and bed room. The survey of 120 domestic residences between ages 20-50 is analyzed. The survey shows: 1) whitish color is most preferable for living room and yellowish green is most preferred by over 40, 2) The preference of whitish color for bed room is also high and 30s show preference for blackish color and 3) the color preference of bluish color is the highest while whitish color dominates the color preference for space. With this result, a color design plan along with various color preferences, whitish color for living room and bed room mainly, but including other color preferences, suggested.
