The purpose of this study was to make a regeneration suggestion for the Sajik-3 redevelopment area in Cheongju city, where residents participated in the environmental improvement program. A field survey was conducted on the physical conditions and a questionnaire was answered by 101 residents on their satisfaction level, inconveniences, and required improvements of residential environment. The major findings are as follows: 1) Almost of residents had lived in this area for more than 10 years. The satisfaction level on neighborhood was high. Their income level was rather low, and more than half of them were over 60 year old. 2) More than half of them showed will to join the "Make Village" program for environmental improvement with their participation. The "Make Village" program was desired to comprise common space enlargement and life support facility refurbishing. They wanted to participate in the activities for common vegetable garden making, village base making, street cleaning, and they showed needs for the business chance relating "Musim River", a stream representing Cheongju city.
