This thesis is the Lexical Study on the names of farming tools which are recorded in the agricultural books. More than 230 kinds of old books concerned with agriculture were published during of Chosun-Dynasty in Korea. The lexical field of farming tools are including fanning tools of plow and vitalize. The names of fanning tools in these books were written in Chinese characters at first, and then also recorded in Hangul with the Chinese characters. In these books, there are many names of fanning tools. This thesis is the study on orthography and lexical meaning on fanning tools used in the books, especially on the different meaning of ‘쟁기' and ‘보습', ‘따비’, ‘가래’, ‘괭이’, ‘써래’, ‘곰방메’, ‘고무래’, ‘번지’, ‘나래’ and so on. 1) I studied on the relations among the meaning of ‘잠기-쟁기’, ‘따비’ and ‘?-?’, ‘삷-가래’, ‘광이’, ‘나래’. 2) I studied on the rendering methods of Chinese writings into Korean. ‘手愁音’, ‘古音波’, ‘飜的’, ‘?-?’, ‘?伊-卦伊’ and so on.
