This paper aims to suggest a revised analysis of the copula SER constructions, to be exact, the predicative verbless clauses in Spanish. In these constructions, the preposed predicate can be adjectival or nominal. When the preposed predicate is a noun, it is accompanied by a quantificational element. The missing verb is interpretated as a silent copula. But it is not possible the perdicative verbless constructions in the sentences with ESTAR, the other copula in Spanish. So, korean students have difficulty distinguishing between the copula constructions. With reference to this aspect, we suppose that SER and ESTAR are defined as a copula but it is different the derivation process. In relation to this view, We suggest that the verb SER is derived from the functional head COP. But ESTAR is resulted from the incorporation of the COP to the ASP.
