The movable housing is today’s new housing to cope with various lifestyles. Recently, it is being understood an important residence in the modern society and yet, in Korea, not a proper research on the movable housing has been conducted because of the social recognition and the infrastructure in the country. For that reason, this study performed a general research on the movable housing, which is found to be quite popular nowadays, to understand characteristics of the housing and to propose a new residence that will go along with the modern lifestyle. The methods of this study performed a literature analysis and case study to grasp the characteristics of movable housing. According to the results, it was found out that the movability, the lightness, the variability, the modularity and the eco-friendliness feature in the movable housing. Based on the findings, this study analyzed how the concept, design and method of movable housing would be applied to the recent housing, and proposed new residential space with the spacial characteristics applied.
