The subjects in this study were 30 senior citizens in the region of Y, North Chungcheong Province, who revealed their intention to participate in this study. They underwent Qigong- based combined exercise program during a 24-week period of time. The findings of the study were as follows: First, the rural senior citizens who underwent Qigong- based combined exercise program showed a decrease in BMI and WHR in terms of body composition, but their changes were not statistically significant. But there was a significant decrease in body fat and a significant increase in fat-free mass(p<.05). Second, the rural senior citizens who underwent Qigong- based combined exercise program showed a decrease in agility in terms of physical fitness, but this change was not statistically significant. There were significant changes in grip strength(p<0.5), balance(p<0.5) and flexibility(p<0.01). Third, the rural senior citizens who participated in the Qigong-based combined exercise program showed no significant changes in past life satisfaction, but there were significant changes in their present(p<.05) and future(0<.01) life satisfaction.
