This study investigated the classics of children’s literature ‘Winniethe-Pooh’ from a carnivalesque perspective. The classics of children’s literature having universality which transcends time and space reflects children’s desire. In ‘Winnie-The-Pooh,’ its original form is implanted as ‘carnival.’ The carnival begins with a story of Pooh bears read by a dad to Christopher Robin. The forest where the carnival is held can be compared to a carnivalesque square where ‘open’ attributes are emphasized. In ‘Winnie-the-Pooh,’ in addition, the linguistic system in the order of reality is overturned through children’s language, and the types can be classified into the followings: ‘image-dependent language,’ ‘phonetic writing,’ ‘disparity between the signifier and the signified,’ ‘new signifier’ and ‘new signified.’ Using children’s language, carnivalesque language which legally overturns the authority of existing language is implemented. The dull-brained Pooh becomes a hero rescuing his friend, but it can be predicted that he doesn’t own and will eventually lose the authority, which is the reminiscence of the carnivalesque king who considers coronation and at the same time dethronement. It is Christopher Robin who ends the carnival in the forest. He takes care of cases in each chapter with his own letters and realistic thinking. In other words, he ends mini parties in the carnival. In the end, he completely finishes the carnival by saying hello to animals and leaving the forest. The carnival world in this literary work reveals a possibility to build ‘Children–A World of Their Own,’ defying against an adult society through the carnivalization of children’s literature. In addition, the fact that ‘Winnie-The-Pooh’ is the classics of the long-beloved children’s literature implies the importance and validity of carnivalized children’s literature.
