In the present age when low fertility and delivery in one`s old age are common according as women`s socio-economic position improves on the strength of their brisk entry into society, women`s quality of life is getting better, and accordingly, their concern for matters from pregnancy to delivery is steadily increasing, and their needs for diverse services and specialized postnatal care are rising.
However, the facilities, which are equipped with the aspects of a specialized postnatal center demanded by new mothers wishing for much better services, are woefully deficient in reality; hereupon, this study grasped the problems in a postnatal care center which is operated by a gyne OB clinc in a combined manner, and the needs of new mothers intending to use the process from prenatal care in one space, based on which this study did research on service improvement program types and service space programs; as a result of case analysis of a postnatal care center through this researching process, this study could learn that application of service space was insufficient, and there is the need for a little more specialized, systematic space.
As an effort to accurately grasp and make up for such problems, the institutionalization plan for postnatal care should be arranged for the time to come, and also there should be the research on diverse approaches to this matter.
